Students take over White Bear Lake restaurant
WHITE BEAR LAKE — Imagine walking into a restaurant staffed entirely by 5th graders.
That’s what Governor Mark Dayton encountered Tuesday at Donatelli’s in White Bear Lake, where the servers, cooks and greeters were all interns from Willow Lane Elementary.
This was the 4th year of the program, that intends to teach kids how to apply for and actually perform a restaurant job for one hour.
All of their tips went to HopeKids which is a support group for childhood cancer patients and their families.
